Captiv8 HQ is situated at the south end of Bondi Beach and over the last 5 years it has become a thriving melting pot of creatives, directors, producers, designers and editors. These are Gen X & Y, Digital Natives with one foot in the city and one foot in the sand, who strive to enjoy the innovation and opportunity of one of the world’s most progressive cities in Sydney while still enjoying the surfing culture that Bondi brings. It is reminiscent of LA’s Santa Monica or Venice that is bursting with talent and creative folk always looking to do something new and innovative. In Sydney Captiv8 is leading the way with a boutique digital facility housing all the tools you need to produce great content.What it has meant for Captiv8 is an opportunity to provide a creative hotspot like no other for like-minded individuals to work as a collective or to develop their own content. It is a unique space where lifestyle and culture meet with business intelligence and creative smarts.Today Captiv8 is trusted to deliver by blue chip clients, having just completed the grade and finish for the NSW Government TVC “Hey Tosser” plus online films and TV commercials for AMP.
Captiv8 recently worked with director Dan Ilic and Producer Hayley Ritz Houlton from Ensemble Sydney on the The NSW Government “Hey Tosser” campaign, involving an online colour grade and Smoke Suite compositing.
Captiv8’s thorough post-production process, which includes all CAD approvals and delivery – whether Dubsat, Adstream or IMD – has in part been made possible by working with foundation client Universal Pictures for the past 5 years. Captiv8 is trusted to output over a 1000 movie trailers and TVCs each year.
But it hasn’t happened over night. The early incarnation of Captiv8 was built from the ambition of 3 guys, Mike Corte (Director), Keir Maher (Managing Director) and Ryan Bodger (Digital Director) all sharing a single room office overlooking Bondi Beach. With a passion to create content across broadcast and digital media from TVCs, motion graphics and great digital campaigns their business has now grown to a foot hold overlooking Tamarama Beach and a studio in South Melbourne.
There is also a hot desk available at Captiv8 for creative directors, copywriters, art directors producers and other creative types to enjoy the production oasis by the beach this summer.
