Covid-19 Digital Grants

Today there are over 2.5m cases of COVID-19 around the world and it has been an incredibly difficult time for many businesses in Australia, but there is a positive note.

There are currently grants available across Australia for small to medium sized businesses and non-profit organisations to invest in online and e-commerce capabilities, but grants are running out so you need to move fast.

Governments have recognised the importance of digital as a channel that businesses in Australia will depend on in this difficult period, so have taken steps to support local businesses to shift to digital and double down on their online presence. 

Why is a digital presence important during the COVID era?

A good digital strategy is key to surviving during COVID, many businesses have already made the shift to becoming digital first but they can always improve, especially when it comes to video and mobile presence.

So, how are governments around Australia supporting digital strategies during COVID?

Victoria
The Victorian Government has launched the $500 million Business Support Fund to help small businesses survive, including $5 million in grants for small to medium sized businesses and non-profit organisations to invest in online and e-commerce so the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) and keep people in work. Learn More

-Up to $5000 for investing in online and e-commerce activities.
-Up to $2000 for training and professional development.
-Up to $10,000 for capital works projects (matching dollar-for-dollar) to adapt to changing conditions.

South Australia
Small businesses and not-for-profit entities that employ South Australians who have been highly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible to receive a $10,000 grant to support the operation of their business. The perfect use of these funds is transitioning to digital so you can earn while in lock-down.

New South Wales
The NSW government has grants of up to $10,000 available to small businesses. The key criteria is that they need to have between 1-19 employees, be paying less than $900,000 in payroll, be based in NSW and have been paying employees as of the 1st of March 2020. Learn More 

Northern Territory
NT is working to deliver the most up to date information and support services available to the industry to help Territorians navigate through the challenging impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic. Learn More 

Western Australia
The WA Government has developed a set of to help you manage business disruption associated with coronavirus (COVID-19), they’ve put together a range of support information focused on the needs of small business owners. Learn More 

Queensland
Queensland offers matched funding of up to $10,000 (excluding GST) may be provided to eligible businesses for the purchase of hardware, software and services (such as digital coaching). The minimum grant funding is $1,000. Learn More
